Join Caroline O’Reilly of Vinnies Re Sew in interview, as she talks about her vision for the Suffrage in Stitches project, challenges on the way, and what she learnt. She shares what is at the heart of this exhibition through the personal stories of the panel makers, who chose to represent the lives of those signing the petition for women’s right to vote.
Caroline designed, led and implemented the Suffrage in Stitches art project which involved recruiting 546 makers to create individually designed panels commemorating 125 years of Suffrage in New Zealand.
Caroline is the Textile Recycling Co-ordinator and Sewing Tutor at Vinnie’s Re Sew in Wellington.
