Dr. Leonard Bell is an esteemed New Zealand art historian. He has taught art history at the University of Auckland and a number of other Universities around the world since 1973, and written many books on New Zealand art history and photography. Most recently he published Marti Friedlander: Portraits of the Artists to coincide with the exhibition of the same name.

Join him at the Art Gallery, inside the exhibition, for a special insight into Friedlander’s life, her portraits of some of New Zealand’s most iconic artists, and the influence her work has had.
