Mina McKenzie Memorial Lecture

The Double Shift: Working Women’s Lives in the Twentieth Century

Every year the Mina McKenzie Memorial Lecture discusses a topic near and dear to the museum community.

The 2025 lecture will be presented by Professor Emerita Barbara Brookes. Her illustrated talk will examine the way women combined paid and unpaid work over the twentieth century.

Louisa McKenzie will also speak about her mother’s experience as a working woman. Everybody welcome.

Followed by afternoon tea.

Supported by the Te Manawa Museum Society.

This event is part of Local History Week and Heritage Month.
