Play area for children under-8. Tamariki features a kid-sized kitchen, building wall, treehouse, reading nook with New Zealand stories in both English and Te Reo Māori, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Beca electric car.

Unearth a piece of pre-history with sand pit play in the Te Manawa fossil pits. The dino dig is an outdoor space and open during spring/summer months – weather dependent. Sometimes this space may be in use with pre-booked learning or holiday programmes.

Activities that concentrate on learning through play for toddlers and young children. Each week has a different focus, shifting between four themes of Boats, Floating, Volume and Speed.
